Introduction

This page lists the supported configurations for PDF label printing. If you want to use a setup that is not included in this list, please note that you are responsible for configuring and validating the setup yourself.

The configurations are grouped based on:

  • Printer make and model

  • Label size and type, workstation operating system, one-click printing included

Dymo LabelWriter 450

Large Address Labels (89 mm x 36 mm) for macOS with One-Click Printing

Workstation Configuration

  1. Install ProPrint for macOS.

  2. Configure ProPrint as follows:

    • Type: Add a type for the label printer and make a note of the type - you will need it in the Provet PDF printer settings.

    • Printer: DYMO LabelWriter 450

    • Width: 36 mm

    • Height: 89 mm

    • Orientation: landscape

    • Top margin: 1 mm

    • Bottom margin: 1 mm

    • Left margin: 5 mm

    • Right margin: 1 mm

Provet Configuration

  1. Enable one-click printing for the clinic location or allow users to enable it for their account.

  2. Configure the Provet PDF printer as follows:

    • One-click printer type: Edit to match the Type in the ProPrint settings, step 2.

    • Label preset: Customized or Dymo LabelWriter 450, Large Address Labels (macOS, Provet ProPrint)

    • Label height (mm): 36

    • Label width (mm): 89

    • Resolution (DPI): 144

    • Rotation: 90°

    • Top margin (mm): 3

    • Bottom margin (mm): 0

    • Left margin (mm): 8

    • Right margin (mm): 0

Dymo LabelWriter 550

Large Address Labels (89 mm x 36 mm) for Windows with Google Chrome

Provet Configuration

Configure the Provet PDF printer as follows:

  • Label preset: Customized or Dymo LabelWriter 550, Large Address labels (Windows, Google Chrome)

  • Label height (mm): 36

  • Label width (mm): 89

  • Resolution (DPI): 144

  • Rotation: 0°

  • Top margin (mm): 2

  • Bottom margin (mm): 0

  • Left margin (mm): 2

  • Right margin (mm): 6

Note

Note: In the web browser’s printing dialog, select the appropriate paper size ('30321 Large Address') and 'fit to paper' scaling.

Large Address Labels (89 mm x 36 mm) for macOS with Google Chrome

Provet Configuration

Configure the Provet PDF printer as follows:

  • Label preset: Customized or Dymo LabelWriter 550, Large Address labels (macOS, Google Chrome)

  • Label height (mm): 36

  • Label width (mm): 89

  • Resolution (DPI): 144

  • Rotation: 0°

  • Top margin (mm): 2

  • Bottom margin (mm): 0

  • Left margin (mm): 2

  • Right margin (mm): 6

Note

Note: In the web browser’s printing dialog, select the appropriate label size ('custom 35.73 x 88.56mm') and 'fit to paper' scaling.

Large Address Labels (89 mm x 36 mm) for macOS with One-Click Printing

  1. Install ProPrint for macOS.

  2. Configure ProPrint as follows:

    • Type: Add a type for the label printer and make a note of the type - you will need it in the Provet PDF printer settings.

    • Printer: DYMO LabelWriter 450

    • Width: 36 mm

    • Height: 89 mm

    • Orientation: portrait

    • Top margin: 0 mm

    • Bottom margin: 0 mm

    • Left margin: 0 mm

    • Right margin: 0 mm

Provet Configuration

  1. Enable one-click printing for the clinic location or allow users to enable it for their account.

  2. Configure the Provet PDF printer as follows:

    • One-click printer type: Edit to match the Type in the ProPrint settings, step 2.

    • Label preset: Customized or Dymo LabelWriter 550, Large Address labels (macOS, Provet ProPrint)

    • Label height (mm): 36

    • Label width (mm): 89

Large Address Labels (89 mm x 36 mm) for Windows with One-Click Printing

This set-up has been tested on the Windows 10 operating system.

Workstation Configuration

  1. Install ProPrint for Windows.

  2. Open the Control Panel and find the printer in the Devices and Printers. Right-click the printer, select Printing preferences and then Advanced.

  3. Set the following options:

    • Paper Size: 99012 Large Address

    • Advanced Printing Features: Enabled

    • Pages per Sheet Layout: Right then Down

    • Color Printing Mode: Enhanced

    • Halftoning: Photo Quality

    • Media Type: Off

    • Print Quality: Barcodes and Graphics

    • Print Density: Normal

    • Continuous Mode: Disabled

Provet Configuration

  1. Enable one-click printing for the clinic location or allow users to enable it for their account.

  2. Configure the Provet PDF printer as follows:

    • One-click printer type: Edit to match the Type in the ProPrint settings.

    • Label preset: Customized or Dymo LabelWriter 550, Large Address labels (Windows, Provet ProPrint)

    • Label height (mm): 36

    • Label width (mm): 89

    • Resolution (DPI): 144

    • Rotation: 0°

    • Top margin (mm): 0

    • Bottom margin (mm): 2

    • Left margin (mm): 0

    • Right margin (mm): 2

Zebra ZDesigner GK420d

3” x 2” labels (76 mm x 51 mm) for Windows with Google Chrome

Workstation Configuration

In the operating system's Control Panel, find the printer in the Printers and scanners section, open Printing preferences and set them as follows:

Options:

  • No. of Copies: 1

  • Paper Format:

    • mm

    • portrait

  • Width: 76.20

  • Height: 50.80

  • Unprintable area: 0 to all

Advanced setup:

  • Operation Mode: Tear off

  • Tracking Mode: Web Sensing

  • Adjustment:

    • Top: 1.00

    • Tear off: 0.00

    • Left position: -0.50

On the Advanced Setup tab, select Calibrate and check that the printer prints two blank labels when calibrating.

Provet Configuration

Configure the Provet PDF printer as follows:

  • Label preset: Customized or Zebra GK420d, 2" x 3" labels (Windows, Google Chrome)

  • Label height (mm): 51

  • Label width (mm): 76

  • Resolution (DPI): 144

  • Rotation: 0°

  • Top margin (mm): 0

  • Bottom margin (mm): 0

  • Left margin (mm): 0

  • Right margin (mm): 0

Note

Note: In the web browser’s printing dialog, select the appropriate paper size ('empty') and 'fit to paper' scaling.

3” x 2” labels (76 mm x 51 mm) for Windows with One-Click Printing

This set-up has been tested on the Windows 10 operating system.

Workstation Configuration

  1. Install ProPrint for Windows.

  2. In the operating system's Control Panel, find the printer in the Printers and scanners section, open Printing preferences and set them as follows:

    Options:

    • No. of Copies: 1

    • Paper Format:

      • mm

      • portrait

    • Width: 76.20

    • Height: 50.80

    • Unprintable area: 0 to all

    Advanced setup:

    • Operation Mode: Tear off

    • Tracking Mode: Web Sensing

    • Adjustment:

      • Top: 1.00

      • Tear off: 0.00

      • Left position: -0.50

Large Address Labels (90 mm x 38 mm) for Windows with Google Chrome

Workstation Configuration

In the operating system's Control Panel, find the printer in the Printers and scanners section, open Printer properties > Advanced tab > select Printing Defaults and set the preferences as follows:

  • Paper Size: 38mm x 90mm

  • Orientation: Landscape

  • Option:

    • Cut every 1 label

    • Cut at end

Provet Configuration

Configure the Provet PDF printer as follows:

  • Label preset: Customized or Brother QL-820NWBc, Large Address labels (Windows, Google Chrome)

  • Label height (mm): 38

  • Label width (mm): 90

  • Resolution (DPI): 144

  • Rotation: 0°

  • Top margin (mm): 0

  • Bottom margin (mm): 0

  • Left margin (mm): 0

  • Right margin (mm): 0

Note: In the web browser’s printing dialog, select the appropriate paper size ('38mm x 90mm') and 'fit to paper' scaling.

Large Address Labels (90 mm x 38 mm) for macOS with Google Chrome

Workstation Configuration

Configure the Provet PDF printer as follows:

  • Label preset: Customized or Brother QL-820NWBc, Large Address labels (macOS, Google Chrome)

  • Label height (mm): 38

  • Label width (mm): 90

  • Resolution (DPI): 144

  • Rotation: 0°

  • Top margin (mm): 0

  • Bottom margin (mm): 0

  • Left margin (mm): 0

  • Right margin (mm): 0

Note

Note: In the web browser’s printing dialog, select the appropriate label size ('custom 38mm x 90mm') and 'fit to printable area' scaling.

Large Address Labels (90 mm x 38 mm) for macOS with One-Click Printing

Workstation Configuration

  1. Install ProPrint for macOS.

  2. Configure ProPrint as follows:

    • Type: Add a type for the label printer and make a note of the type you add - you will need it in the Provet PDF printer settings.

    • Printer: Brother QL-820NWBc

    • Width: 90 mm

    • Height: 38 mm

    • Orientation: portrait

    • Margins: 0 mm

Provet Configuration

  1. Enable one-click printing for the clinic location or allow users to enable it for their account.

  2. Configure the Provet PDF printer as follows:

    • One-click printer type: Edit to match the Type in the ProPrint settings, step 2.

    • Label preset: Customized or Brother QL-820NWBc, Large Address labels (macOS, Provet ProPrint)

    • Label height (mm): 38

    • Label width (mm): 90

    • Resolution (DPI): 144

    • Rotation: 0°

    • Top margin (mm): 0

  2. Find the printer in the Printers & Scanners settings, select Manage, go to Printer properties > Advanced tab and select Printing Defaults.

  3. Set the following options:

    • Paper Size: 38mm x 90mm

    • Cut Every 1 labels

    • Cut at end

Validation

View and print the generic test label in the PDF printer settings. Also test the printer configuration with template-specific test labels or an actual label to check the need to customise the margins.
