Change a Patient’s Owner

If a patient’s primary ownership changes, the patient’s account can be transferred to the new owner.

Note

You cannot change the owner for a patient if the patient has active consultations or draft invoices. Finalize the consultation or counter sale to proceed with the owner change.

  1. Make sure that the new owner has a client account saved in your system. If not, first add the client.

  2. Go to the current owner's client and patient page. If multiple patients are connected to the client, select the patient you want to transfer to the new owner.

  3. Select Actions > Change owner. A new page opens.

  4. In the New owner field, search for and select the new owner.

  5. Select Save.

What Happens After the Change

When a patient's owner is changed, the patient's clinical history transfers to the new owner. The owner change is also recorded on the patient's History. To see the owner change in the history, filter for Whole history, as the default filter may not display all history entries depending on when the change occurred.

What Is Not Transferred

  • Financial data (such as invoices and prepayments) remains with the previous owner.

  • Patient reminders already in the sending queue do not transfer.
