This article explains how to search for clients and patients using the search options in Records > Clients & Patients. You can perform basic and extended searches to find client and patient information.
In the Records > Clients & Patients view, you can make a basic search by client or patient name or ID in the top search field or select the Extended search check box for more search options. The search results are listed below the extended search options list.
Using the extended search options, you can search with additional information and limit your search results further, for example, search for cat owners whose last name is Jones. When the Enable patient addresses setting is enabled in the clinic location settings, you can use the Street address field to search by the patient’s address. This may include a location such as a stable or yard, which is particularly useful in production animal and equine clinics where patients are often located at a different address than the client.
You can combine filter options to find the client or patient you are looking for. In the extended search section, you will find the following search filters to narrow down your search:

Using Extended Search for Data Collection
You can use the Extended search to collect specific information, like running a report. By combining the various search filters, you can gather the data you need about clients, patients, or both. For example, you can find all clients or patients that share the same tag. After sorting or filtering the Extended search results, you can export them to an XLS file for analysis.
