Create and Manage Item Categories

Item categories allow you to group items to manage your central item catalog efficiently. You can use these categories, for example, for reporting, discount schemes, and conditional pricing.

View Existing Item Categories

Access Item categories at your central clinic location to view, search, and filter your list.

  1. In the central clinic location, go to Catalog > Catalog management > Item categories.

  2. The Item categories page displays all existing schemes in a list showing:

    • Name

    • Items (The number of items assigned to the category)

    • Last updated

    • Status (Active or Archived)

At the end of each item category row, you can select the pen button to rename the category or the trash button to archive it.

You can filter the list using the Active or Archived options, or use the search bar to find a specific category.

Create an Item Category

  1. In the central clinic location, go to Catalog > Catalog management > Item categories.

  2. Select + New item category.

  3. Enter a name for the category in the Name field.

    • To create multiple categories, press Enter after each name to start a new entry.

  4. Select Create.

Add Items to Categories

You can assign items to categories individually from the item card at your central clinic location:

  1. Go to Catalog > Items.

  2. Select the pen button at the end of the item row.

  3. Select the Item categories tab.

  4. Select the checkboxes for the categories you want to assign the item to.

  5. Select Review and Save.

  6. In the dialog that opens, review your changes and select Save or Return to editing.

You can also use bulk actions to add or remove categories for multiple items simultaneously:

  1. Go to Catalog > Items.

  2. Click the rows of the items you wish to update to highlight them.

  3. Select Actions > Add categories or Remove categories.

  4. In the dialog that opens, select the relevant categories in the Categories field.

  5. Select Save.
