Third-party PACS Image Viewers

In addition to the built-in MedDream DICOM Viewer, Provet can also be connected to your preferred diagnostic image viewer.

Third-party image viewers must be URL-based. To set up the connection, a viewer URL address is needed for the viewer, and it has to be accessible from the networks from where the users of the DICOM image viewer want to view the images. This may be either the clinic's or hospital's internal network only or the whole Internet. The third-party PACS provider must provide the URL address and complete the required network settings with the local IT clinic location of the clinic/hospital.

For more information, please contact your local Provet Sales representative or Provet Support.

Provet Settings

In Settings > General > Integrations > Diagnostic Imaging Settings, the following settings are needed:

  • Under the PACS section, click Add to add new viewer URL. Multiple PACS can be setup per Clinic location.

  • You can specify a common name for the Image archive (PACS), add Advanced context in url and assign it to multiple departments.

  • Adding advanced context in URL shows more context enabling easier tracking of diagnostic images.

Update imaging modality

Link PACS to modalities to ensure referrals automatically redirect users to the correct PACS when more than one is in use.

  • Go to Settings > General > Integrations > Diagnostic Imaging Settings>Imaging modality management.

  • Click Add or the pencil icon if you have existing imaging modality added.

  • Below Common name, select a configured PACS.
