Yes, you can set certain information as required when adding patient details. Name and Species are always mandatory, but you can also set additional fields on the patient details page as required.
In your clinic location settings, enable the following settings:

Enable mandatory official name for patients: When this setting is enabled, the Official name field must be filled in.

Require microchip implantation date for microchipped patients: When this setting is enabled, the microchip implantation date must be filled in (if a microchip is added to the patient).

Required patient tags: When this setting is enabled, patient tags must be selected or defined when creating or editing a patient profile.
