Unmerge Patients

When patient records are merged, data from one patient is merged to another and the merged patient record is archived. If you need to unmerge a patient:

To unmerge a patient:

  1. Go to Clients & Patients and use the Archived filter to find the merged patient record. Archived clients are displayed with a strikethrough. Depending on the clinic location settings, you may also be able to find archived patients using the super search.

  2. Select the archived patient to open the patient details page.

  3. Select Go to unmerge patient to start the unmerge process. You can also select View merged patient to open the active patient record and review its details before unmerging.

  4. On the Unmerge patient records page, review the following:

    • Patient record to unmerge: the archived record that will be restored.

    • Merged patient record: the active record that currently contains the merged data.

    • The right-hand panel lists the data that will be reverted.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Unmerge.

  6. In the confirmation dialog, select Unmerge to complete the process.
